Computer Lab

Welcome to the World of Technology.

Labrea Tar Pits Form

Hello Parents,

Your children are using the "Pair Programming" system while learning to Code.  With "Pair Programming," students work as a team.  Each student works with a partner while taking turns being the Driver and the Navigator.  Not only do they enjoy this method but they are excelling in their programming skills because it encourages them to experiment more with coding and creates a fun platform in which they can figure out how to debug coding errors on their own.  Please click on the link  below to learn more about this wonderful system.

I will be posting pictures of the students soon!

It is with pleasure that I welcome you to the Peninsula Montessori Computer Classroom.  I am so excited to be able to use  my computer skills and experience in a Montessori environment.  I have been working independently as a Computer Software Specialist since 1997.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach our students in the field of Technology.  They will continue to learn typing, word processing, geography, and computer basics.  This year children will be introduced to Computer Programming through Coding.  Coding is how technology, including software, apps., and websites, is created.  Coding is invaluable in that it teaches problem solving and creates solutions to immediate challenges. By exposing children to coding, we give them the tools they need to compete and make smart life choices in the digital world.  We will teach coding using 2 programs: Tynker and Scratch.

Please click on the links below to learn more about these programs and the benefits of coding.
